This policy is subject to change as the situation continues to develop.
Attendee Illness and Pass Transfers
Pre-Event:
Please do not attend Zouk the North if you have any contagious illness.
Zouk the North does not currently have any masking, testing or vaccination requirements.
You are absolutely not permitted to attend the event if any of the following apply to you:
- You have an acute illness (for example, cold, flu, or viral infection) at any time of the event and have not had a negative COVID-19 test;
- You may have symptoms with COVID-19
- You have tested positive for COVID-19, and have not been cleared
For all acute illnesses (for example, cold or flu) where a negative COVID-19 test has been confirmed, we ask that participants or staff mask for the duration of their involvement in the event.
Depending on your unique situation, we will waive pass transfer fees, offer a refund, or allow you to apply your pass to the following Zouk the North in any of the above cases. We will also waive fees if you decide not to attend the event and transfer your ticket because you are or will be in close contact with someone who is immunosuppressed.
Please note that we may ask to see documentation or information proving that you fall into one of the above categories.
At the Event:
ZTN strongly supports people having the option to mask, and will not tolerate any pressure or discrimination against those who choose to do so. We encourage people to have a mask available to wear in case a partner feels that this would make them more comfortable.
Depending on local requirements and the state of COVID-19 at the time of the event, ZTN or our venue may require masking in the event space.
If you become symptomatic during the event, you will not be permitted to continue attending the event until you have been examined, tested, and cleared for further participation. Depending on your situation, we may provide you with one of the following:
- A complimentary or discounted pass to next year;
- A full or partial refund; or,
- Waived transfer fees.
ZTN is not responsible for any other costs associated with your attendance at the festival, quarantine or isolation, testing, or return home.
After the Event:
If you attend Zouk the North and are diagnosed with Coronavirus within 14 days of the event, you must let us know as soon as possible so that we can inform other attendees.
Coronavirus Event Precautions Plan
Zouk the North will take the following precautions at the event:
- Symptomatic Individuals: Any individual with symptoms that could be COVID-19 will not be allowed to attend the event until they can be examined and cleared. That person’s roommates or travel companions may also be asked to quarantine themselves.
- Hand Hygiene: Hand washing frequently and fully is strongly recommended. Sanitizer may be available.
Heath or Catastrophic Event Cancellation Plan
Pre-Event Cancellation Plan:
It is our responsibility to ensure that all our attendees are as safe as possible. In the event of a public emergency, this may involve canceling or postponing the event. We will monitor the evolving situation closely. We currently do not plan to cancel the event.
If public health or other authorities determine to suspend schools, public transport, or other group gatherings, we will cancel or postpone the event. This is to ensure that our community remains as safe as possible.
Depending on the nature of the cancellation, we may do one of the following:
- Offer carry-over passes for the next year; or,
- Provide a full or partial refund.
Please note that it takes time to process that volume of refunds or carry-over passes. Expect up to a two-month delay.
If an Emergency Occurs During the Event:
If there is an emergency of any kind during the event, we will work with local health authorities to manage the situation. This may include quarantining participants or venues where the event took place, and may result in the rest of the event being cancelled. All attendees are expected to comply with the directions of public officials.
Depending on the nature of the impact, ZTN will do one of the following for impacted parties:
- Provide full or partial refunds; or,
- Provide discount codes for a future edition; or,
- Provide carry-over passes to the next event.
If an Attendee is Diagnosed with COVID-19 After the Event:
If ZTN becomes aware of any individual diagnosed with COVID-19 within 21 days of the Congress’ end date, we will notify all participants so that they may take the necessary precautions to manage their individual situation and quarantine themselves.
